“Venezuela wants the UN General Secretariat to appoint an election support commission to witness the day the people of Venezuela rebuild their National Assembly,” TASS quoted Maduro as saying.
He also invited the governments of Mexico, Argentina, Panama, the EU and the representatives of the contact group to contribute to the conclusion of a national agreement on guarantees of wide participation in parliamentary elections, which will be held at the end of 2020.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that Washington is working on a project to change power in Venezuela - on the removal from the presidency of the incumbent head of state, Nicolas Maduro.
