Volvo CEO: "We make more money on SUVs"

Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson is clear that customers want large cars and SUVs, and that large cars provide better margins and profitability for Volvo today. He believes that Volvo has a social responsibility in what range of cars you offer.

Volvo sells 60 percent SUVs, and this summer the production of the smaller V40 ceased. Volvo has become the heaviest car brand in Europe with the largest increase in emissions.

Håkan Samuelsson sees a problem in that most cars Volvo sells today are large heavy cars with internal combustion engines, which he himself thinks are not sustainable. But in the long run, it is electricity that applies to Volvo.
