Varberg Hospital's third best in the country

The jury has taken seven categories into account, among these medical quality and availability.

The documentation has been based on the hospital's self-reported data that Dagens Medicin obtained from various national quality registries, the National Board of Health, the Swedish Municipalities and Regions, and the Pregnancy Register.

In the category Mid-sized hospitals, ie hospitals with round-the-clock emergency reception with delivery, the hospital in Halmstad also qualifies for the top list and pinches a seventh place.

This is not the first time that the hospital in Varberg is in the top tier. In 2015, they had an even higher ranking, namely second place.

Today's Medicine ranks Västervik's hospital highest in the above-mentioned category 2019. The other categories are Best University Hospital and Best Small Hospital.
