The National Committee for the Implementation of the International Health Regulations and Combating Pandemics at the national level, headed by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, confirmed in the presence of representatives of the strategic partners, namely the Dubai Health Authority, the Abu Dhabi Health Department, the National Authority for Emergency and Crisis and Disaster Management, the General Authority for Ports, Borders and Free Zones, state airports and relevant strategic partners. The country is completely free of cases of the new Coronavirus, which has recently appeared in the Republic of China.

The Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Centers and Clinics Sector and Committee Chairman, Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al-Rand asserted that the UAE has an integrated system and plans for emergency and crisis to face public health risks. And it is in constant contact with the World Health Organization in this regard, to find out the developments and the procedures taken by the world organization and the recommendations issued by it in this regard, and the committee added that the measures taken in such cases are enough to protect the state from entering the new Corona virus, excluding the entry of any case infected with this disease To the state.

He added: "The committee would like to reassure the public in the UAE that the cases discovered around the world are still limited in comparison with other types of epidemics, stressing that the health situation is not a cause for concern and that the ministry is closely following the situation in a way that guarantees the health and safety of everyone."

Dr. Hussein Al-Rand said that the committee in its meeting today reviewed the precautionary measures that are applied in the entry points in the country to ensure that the best international practices are followed, and to avoid the spread of infectious diseases. It was also agreed to publish awareness leaflets for people coming to the country in different languages. Emphasis on monitoring cases to discover them early and working to educate all health facilities in the country so that any potential cases are contained, in addition to setting up a national media committee to conduct awareness within the country regarding the new Corona disease.

The National Committee for the Implementation of the International Health Regulations and the fight against pandemics confirm that they are in continuous communication with the World Health Organization on any new developments or emergency measures issued by the organization, in addition to the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the current health situation in the Chinese province and a review of the best global health practices of countries to reduce the risk of disease transmission to them.

The committee also confirms that health security and the prevention of health risks and pandemics are a national priority in the UAE and within its strategy to prevent society from diseases, by strengthening international health regulations and their application in the country and concerted efforts and sustainable cooperation between all relevant authorities in the state.
