The coronavirus of a citizen of the PRC who flew to St. Petersburg was not confirmed

A student from China who was hospitalized earlier in St. Petersburg was not found to have coronavirus in the body. This was reported by TASS in the press service of the city committee on health.



“A Chinese citizen has not confirmed coronavirus. The tests are ready, he has the usual ARVI, ”the representative of the committee said.

Earlier it was reported that a passenger with suspected ARVI arrived in St. Petersburg from China.

As stated in the Botkin Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, two people with suspected acute respiratory viral infections were taken to a medical facility.

One of them is Russian, the other is a citizen of China.

In late December, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan. It was preliminary established that the causative agent was a new type of coronavirus - 2019-nCoV, which is transmitted from person to person.

According to the latest data, 17 people died from this type of coronavirus, more than 500 are infected.
