January 22, 2020 The Turin carabinieri arrested the author of the fatal investment that took place on the night of January 19 in Nichelino, in the Turin area, on the provincial road 143 that connects Orbassano to Stupinigi. Here the military had found the body of an Albanian citizen who would have turned 36 today. Thanks to the images captured by the video surveillance cameras, the military have identified a white Golf that after the impact, in a foggy evening, lost the front emblem on the ground. The subsequent inspection of a patrol of the Rivoli company in a workshop in Giaveno made it possible to find the badly damaged car and with traces of blood still visible on the hood. The car had been brought to the workshop on the morning of January 20 by the owner, who reported to the coachbuilder that he had accidentally hit a roe deer. Tracked down and taken to the barracks, the man, a 34-year-old worker from Giaveno, confessed to the accident by telling investigators that in passing that artery, probably because of the fog, he had accidentally hit the pedestrian. The man would have stopped about three hundred meters ahead without giving or requesting assistance, and then immediately left in panic and then returned to the accident site, where he noticed a person lying on the roadway. The 34-year-old was accompanied to the Turin prison and will now have to answer for road homicide and omission of aid.
