The 39-year-old man who was shot in Norrköping was sentenced in 2018 to two years in prison after a blackmail attempt in Norrköping.

A 37-year-old man who was written in an apartment on the floor where the bomb exploded in the staircase on Formaregatan was sentenced in the same case to 1 year and 6 months in prison.

Following the shooting death of the 39-year-old, Chief Prosecutor Torsten Angervåg noted that the man "has had a prominent role in criminal circles in Norrköping for several years".

In all likelihood, last summer's big explosion on Ådalagatan in Linköping and the blasting of a strip club in Örebro can also be linked to this conflict.
