It was in October that a conflict between an 18-year-old and one of his classmates at the school, one of the convicted 17-year-olds, was degenerate.

An ordinary school day at lunchtime, the 18-year-old was tricked out of the lunchroom at the school by a cousin to the 17-year-old he had been arguing with earlier in the week, on the pretext that they would "resolve the situation". They went to a nearby soccer field where the 17-year-old and his younger brother were waiting.

Filmed after the abuse

According to his testimony, the 18-year-old must first have been peeled and then beaten and kicked when he was lying down by all three boys. Some of them also used a sharp object, which the police could not determine what it is, to cut the 18-year-old in the neck and scalp. The 17-year-old must have filmed him afterwards with his cellphone when he got up bloody.

His injuries were first assessed as life-threatening and the incident was classified as attempted murder. But at the arrest of the two 17-year-olds, the district court classified the crime into serious abuse.

Several witnesses

Now all three men are sentenced: the 17-year-old, his 16-year-old brother and his 17-year-old cousin for serious abuse.

All three have denied the crime and denied being on the scene, but according to the district court, the 18-year-old is considered credible and his story is also confirmed by two witnesses who saw the abuse themselves in the field and were able to point out the perpetrators.

Sentenced for youth care and youth service

The boys are sentenced to youth care, which, according to the social service's proposal, ends on eight calls an hour each. They will also jointly pay SEK 46500 in damages to the 18-year-old for mental illness and violation.

However, the District Court considers that it is about such serious violence, which has also been preceded by planning, that youth care and damages are not enough. They also judge the maximum number of hours of youth service that can be judged, 150 hours. If the boys had been over 21, they would have been sentenced to seven and five months in prison respectively, the court writes in their judgment.
