Where are the files processed by the IGPN as part of the “yellow vests” movement? While many voices are raised regularly to denounce the police investigation timeframe of the police deemed too long, the Paris prosecutor's office sent the press a new report on Tuesday. As of December 31, 2019, out of the 217 investigations entrusted to "carrot beef", 19 justified the opening of a judicial investigation and 68 were the subject of a classification without further action.

Two agents were also the subject of proceedings before the criminal court. A 44-year-old CRS was sentenced to two months suspended prison sentence last December for throwing a paving stone towards demonstrators during the May Day parade. Another CRS, who was prosecuted for giving two slaps to a protester, still during the May Day parade, received a suspended sentence of four months.

Investigations still in progress

There are therefore 147 investigations carried out by the IGPN or being analyzed by the prosecution. Since this assessment was made, the number of investigations entrusted to the police has increased further. As recently as Sunday, the prosecution opened an investigation into "willful violence by a person holding public authority", entrusted to the IGPN, after an agent was filmed hitting a protester on the ground.
