The diet project started a year ago, staff noted that eleven of the 30 living in the elderly had lost weight.

Good smaller goals

The routines and working methods of the accommodation were changed and instead started from a new meal plan. Now the meals have been increased to seven meals per day. At seven o'clock, the first meal is served on the edge of the bed - as a breakfast, so the appetite gets well for breakfast.

- I think it is better to several times and eat a little. Duck and pack in so you can hardly walk, says Gunvald Åslund, a resident of Hallstaborg.

Pleasant eating environment

Diet is an important part of reducing the risk of malnutrition and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. In addition, a more comfortable and individualized environment has been created at the meals. Food waste has decreased as less food is left over at meals.

The approach attracts more

Now all special accommodation throughout the municipality of Ånge will introduce seven meals and nutritionally calculated menus.
