The Tunisian interactions did not subside during the past hours on social networking sites, as everyone was following the latest developments related to the selection of President Qais Said, the "appropriate figure" to assign him to head the government.

And late on Monday evening, the letter of assignment came to confirm the news before it about the selection of former Finance Minister Elias Al-Fakhfakh to form the government.

Views and split

Once the name of the traps was revealed, the views of the Tunisians were divided between those who saw him as a person capable of leading the current critical political, economic and social stage in the country, and those who saw that he was not fit for this position, especially since his party "Caucus for Work and Freedoms" did not win any seats in the elections Legislative.

And the trap who ran for the last presidential elections and was unable to garner many votes, finds himself today a candidate for the most important positions in Tunisia. He is the second prime minister to be appointed in three months after the legislative elections that took place last October, after Habib Jamali's failure to gain the confidence of Parliament on January 10, although he was supported by the winning election movement.

After the announcement by the Presidency of the Republic of the appointment of Elias El-Fakhfakh, 47, the politician and historian Adnan Monser expressed optimism about this choice, saying that "Tunisia is in a clearer and cleaner way now, and let the corrupt agreement go to hell. Thank you Qais Saeed for your steadfastness, and for your choice!".

Revolutionary approach

In this regard, many people appreciated the choice of President Saeed, saying that it is "a continuation of the revolutionary approach." One of the commentators said on the page of the Presidency of the Republic that the president "by choosing Mr. Elias Al-Fakhakh chose the approach of the revolution and held the responsibility of all parties, especially those claiming revolutionary or defending the principles of the revolution." .

On the other hand, another commentator said, "Praise be to God, President Qais Saeed passed the test and did not give in to the pressure of the lobbies now (we have) the president clean and upright, as well as the Prime Minister Elias Al-Fakhfakh, a respectable and clean person."

In this context, an account in the name of Najat Ghadiri said on Twitter that "traps are the best among the proposed candidates," and she believed that he was able to assemble a political belt around a political government, and more importantly, he belonged to the line of the revolution and democracy away from the lobbies.

# Elias_fakhfakh as Prime Minister in Tunisia commissioned by President # Qais_Said ... He is the best among the proposed candidates .. I think he is able to assemble a political belt around a political government and most importantly he belongs to the line of the revolution and democracy away from the lobbies

Several parties believe that the prime minister-designate belongs to a party that fights (the Caucus for Work and Liberties), which believes in the revolution and seeks to achieve its goals.

In a video statement broadcast by the Tunisian presidency, Al-Fakhfakh said after his assignment that he seeks the government to be at the level of this trust and this historic moment, and the level of the Tunisian people's expectations.

Al-Fakhfakh pledged to work for his government to be in harmony with what was expressed by the Tunisian people in the recent elections, to ensure serious change in public policies and to establish fair, honest and strong conditions and institutions for the state.

Pledges and rejected

Despite these pledges, many refuse to appoint traps at the head of the Tunisian government, considering that he is not fit for this position.

In this context, Fathia Saidi said that this assignment is considered the first of its kind in the world, as the party won no seat, neither in the legislative elections in 2014 nor in the legislative elections in 2019, nor even in the municipal elections in 2018 that can get a seat It has only a hundred votes. As for its president, he got 0.08 in the presidential elections of 2019 ... to be the first party in the world to rise to power with "zero" seats .. Isn't the matter similar to coups?

In this regard, Muhammad Haj Mansur asked: Is this what the people wanted? 1- Prime Minister-designate Elias El-Fakhfakh ran for the 2019 presidential elections and received only 0.34% of the vote. 2- Qais Saeed's slogan in his presidential campaign, "People want"! Is this what the people wanted, boss, or are they the dictates of mafia lobbies?

Composition and positions

It is noteworthy that the traps was appointed Minister of Tourism in late 2011, before becoming Minister of Finance in December 2012, a position that he continued until January 2014.

The Prime Minister-designate specializes in mechanical engineering and business administration, and holds a master's degree in these two specialties from France, where he began his career.

In 2006, he returned to Tunisia and assumed the position of General Manager of the Tunisian company, "Cortel", which specializes in the manufacture of auto components, which later turned to the company "Kaffeo".
