On January 13, a 50-year-old French airline pilot was convicted of complicity in remote sexual assaults after watching live attacks on girls in the Philippines. He received five years in prison. It is the first conviction of this type in France, which calls others after the tabling of an amendment to this effect, explains this Tuesday the Minister of Justice Nicole Belloubet interviewed by Le Parisien .

An LREM deputy tabled an amendment to the law on violence against women on January 15. Guillaume Gouffier-Cha thus proposes to continue the simple fact of requesting, from his computer, rape or sexual assault in live-streaming, reveals Le Parisien . "The tabled amendment is essential to stop this emerging phenomenon," said Nicole Belloubet.

Rape for remuneration

"The Central Office for the Suppression of Violent Injury to Persons (OCRVP) listed 300 principals in France at the end of 2019," said the minister. This amendment should also make it possible to facilitate the prosecution and the conviction of the sponsors acting from France.

“Pedocrime, like all forms of crime, is evolving. (…) The amendment adopted on January 15 in committee, when examining the bill aiming to protect victims of domestic violence, creates a new autonomous offense: requesting the commission of rape against remuneration becomes reprehensible in itself, whether the crime is committed or not, ”explains Nicole Belloubet to the Parisian .

The Ministry of Justice has already circulated a letter to encourage local courts to "divest themselves for the benefit of the Paris prosecutor's office in these cases": 11 procedures are currently under study in Paris.
