The video-on-demand platform HBO Max announced Tuesday that it has ordered an animated series parodying the British royal family, which will include Prince George and his very "modern aunt Meghan" among its characters.

Entitled "The Prince", this series will be inspired by a parody account of Instagram which imagines the reactions of young George (son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, 6 years old) to current affairs, especially that affecting the Royal family.

The cartoon will stage the Windsor seen through "the eyes of young Prince George" with as main protagonists his close relatives, including his aunt Meghan and his uncle Harry. The prominent couple have announced their withdrawal from the British monarchy and have just moved into western Canada, on Vancouver Island (British Columbia).

"The Prince" will be written and produced by Gary Janetti, who already has the sitcom "Les Griffin" and the series "Will and Grace".

The author follows closely the actions of the royal family on his Instagram account, to which more than 880,000 people subscribe. Recently, a post to an article reporting that Harry and Meghan were going to lose their royal title was accompanied by a picture showing a Prince George dumbfounded with the legend: "Oh my god, they are going to become ... people."

"We are very excited to transpose the world that Gary created on Instagram to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know: that George can be hilarious, shocking and surprisingly cute", said Sarah Aubrey, responsible for original content for the streaming platform.

This series is described as "a satirical and scouring reading of the life of Prince George", which will follow him "from the 775 rooms in Buckingham Palace" to "primary school with commoners".

It will be broadcast on HBO Max, a platform to be launched next May by WarnerMedia and must also offer a series drawn from the successful universe of "Game of Thrones". "The Prince" has not yet been released.
