Gutteres called on UN Security Council to support Berlin accords on Libya

"I believe that the support of these agreements by the Security Council and other steps after the conference would be extremely important," TASS quoted his statement as a result of closed consultations of the Security Council on Libya.

On January 19, a conference on the Libyan settlement took place in Berlin.

As German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, the parties agreed that there would be a “comprehensive settlement plan,” and the documents adopted during the conference “should be approved by the UN Security Council.”
