A 33-year-old man was on trial immediately before the Saint-Brieuc criminal court for firing shots in the air before threatening the police with his weapon, reports Ouest-France . The facts took place on the evening of January 1.

Called for gunshots heard in the Villages district, the police had discovered a visibly alcoholic man standing in front of his door with his shotgun in his hand. Despite the summons, the 33-year-old individual pointed his gun at the police, who were a few meters from him. The latter had finally succeeded in arresting him.

Almost two grams of alcohol in the blood

Placed in police custody, the hunter had at the time of the events nearly two grams of alcohol in the blood. He was sentenced to 24 months in prison, 15 of which was suspended with probation. He will serve his sentence under an electronic bracelet.

He will also have to compensate the police up to 1,000 euros each and is prohibited from frequenting drinking places and holding a weapon for a period of five years.
