“We are notifying our customers and suppliers that, according to company estimates, the return to 737 MAX flights will begin in mid-2020,” the company said.

Boeing said regulators are thoroughly checking every step in the certification process.

“The safe return of MAX to service is the number one priority for us, and we are confident that this will happen,” the companies added.

In December 2019, Boeing announced plans to suspend the production of 737 MAX aircraft from January 2020.

In March 2019, 157 people were killed as a result of the crash of this type of Ethiopian Airlines plane.

In October 2018, Lion Air's Boeing 737 MAX crashed into the sea in Indonesia. As a result of the accident, 189 people died.

In connection with the incidents, the Federal Air Transport Agency closed the airspace of Russia for the Boeing 737 MAX.
