The mother remained without news of her child for 24 hours. This Tuesday morning, a young woman was arrested in Roanne, in the Loire, as part of an investigation opened in Lyon after the disturbing disappearance of an eight-month-old girl, reports Le Progrès.

Monday, the baby's mother, domiciled in Rillieux-la-Pape, north of Lyon, had entrusted her little one to a young woman, recommended by a friend. But when it came time to pick up her little one from the babysitter's home in Vénissieux, the latter had vanished and was unreachable by phone. The mother immediately alerted the police, who opened an investigation into the disturbing disappearance.

A young man arrested

It took investigators a few hours to trace the suspect, who allegedly took the train on Monday to reach Roanne with the baby. The young woman, known for a heavy psychiatric history according to the regional daily, was geolocated in an accommodation in the center of Roanne. It was there that she was arrested this Tuesday morning, in the company of a young man, also arrested. The baby was delivered to his mother safe and sound.

The investigation continues to understand what prompted the young woman to abduct the girl and determine the role played by each of the protagonists in this case.
