Director of Research, Development and Training at the National Meteorological Center, Omar Al Yazidi, revealed that the research projects that were applied in the UAE contributed to increasing the rain rates by rates ranging between 30 and 35%, indicating that there is no technology so far in the world that can calculate quantities Precipitation from clouds accurately.

Al Yazidi said, during a press conference organized by the Emirates Rainfall Research Center yesterday, at the conclusion of the International Rainfall Forum, which was hosted by Abu Dhabi over a period of three days, that the processes of pollination of clouds and the use of materials and technologies are completely safe on the environment and on humans, and there are no concerns about them either at the present time Or in the future, we are confident that it will contribute in a pivotal manner to developing new scientific and technical foundations that will help reduce the water scarcity facing arid and semi-arid regions around the world.

During the conference, the director of the Emirates Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science, Alia Al Mazrouei, announced that participation in the fourth cycle of the program had begun at the beginning of 2021, noting that the program received 370 research proposals from 68 countries, and the participation of 1480 researchers affiliated to 647 institutions within four years.

Al Mazrouei said that the total grants awarded to nine research projects adopted by the program during its previous four sessions amounted to $ 15 million, or $ 1.5 million per project.
