A new rescue operation in the Pas de Calais strait. The Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (CROSS) rescued twelve people on Monday, announces the maritime prefecture. An alert was given by migrants off Cap Gris-Nez. Struggling 4 kilometers from the coast, the group of twelve people, including two women and a child, is on a light boat and requires emergency intervention as a matter of urgency.

Responsiveness of rescuers

To rescue them, the CROSS sends Scarpe , the coastal maritime surveillance speedboat (VCSM) of the maritime gendarmerie of Boulogne-sur-Mer and Aramis , the coastal gendarmerie patrolman (PCG) in the area. Recovered by the rescuers, the twelve people were able to reach the Boulogne coast around 10am.

In mild hypothermia, they were taken care of by firefighters and border police (PAF 62).
