At a prison in Paraguay, South America, 75 inmates, including members of a criminal organization in neighboring Brazil who had been sentenced, were jailed in groups. Local authorities are apparently digging a hole in the prison and running away.

The Paraguayan Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that a total of 75 prisoners had escaped from prisons in Amanbai province in the northeast, bordering Brazil.

Inside the prison, a hole large enough for a person outside the site to enter and a sandbag that seems to contain the excavated soil were found, and it was estimated that 200 people had dug the hole and escaped from prison.

It also means that one of the inmates was detained trying to escape through this hole, following the 75 who were able to escape.

The Ministry of Home Affairs says that many of the 75 jailbreakers may have fled to Brazil because they were members of Brazil's largest criminal organization for smuggling drugs and weapons.

The Paraguayan Ministry of Interior has decided to pursue the 75 escapees and investigate if there were any colleagues inside the prison solely for a major jailbreak.
