20 January 2020 Two teachers have been subjected to a precautionary measure (one under house arrest, the other under the obligation to sign) on charges of mistreatment of a dozen children, students of an Islamic association in Monza, in execution of a custodial order precautionary measure issued by the investigating magistrate of Monza.

According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri, the children (between 5 and 10 years) would have been hit with wooden rods, threatened and closed in a closet with the justification of not having shown sufficient commitment in the study.

"If you tell something at home I'll kill you", and again, "you know what happens to you if you complain, you end up in the closet of punishment, in the dark". These are some of the threats that the two teachers of Senegalese origin of the Islamic school based in the Cultural Association "Norou Dareyni Touba" of Monza, would have used to intimidate some of the very small students, after having beaten them, as it emerges from the investigation of the carabinieri of the provincial command of Monza, coordinated by the prosecutor of Monza.

In the school, an afternoon and Sunday course to learn the Koran, the Arabic language and Islamic culture, the children were beaten when they did not meet the expectations of the two teachers.

To start the investigation, last May, the reporting to social services by some teachers of the day schools attended by the children, who noticed the bruises on the body of some of them. Following the investigation, the Association was closed.
