In the Stockholm region, there are differing opinions about what the money should go to when the government gives extra 5 billion for welfare to the country's municipalities and regions. The opposition's Aida Hadžialić (S) believes that the money should go to stop the large-scale warning by healthcare professionals. But the Finance Region Council Iréne Svenonius (M) does not agree. On Monday, the January parties (S, MP, C and L) announced that the country's municipalities and regions will receive extra five billion for welfare in 2020. It is still unclear how much money will be distributed to the municipalities in the county and the Stockholm region.
"The government is taking billions from Stockholm County and now we are planning to give back a few million of our money," says Iréne Svenonius (M) Finance Council.
