The operation was still in progress, Sunday around 10 p.m. Since 6.30 p.m., around sixty firefighters have been mobilizing in the rue Gustave Eiffel, in the Beaujoire district of Nantes. According to the departmental security and fire service, the fire started on the fifth floor of a building counting 15. An explosion was heard before the flames degraded three apartments.

The report of the firefighters does not report any serious injury. Seven people, "in relative emergency", were however transported to the Nantes University Hospital. Others were taken care of on the spot by the firemen. The fire also caused great damage as several families were relocated. Others are affected by power outages. "A center for helping those involved has been activated at the Halvêque neighborhood house," say the firefighters.
