Merkel and Guterres welcomed the guests of the international conference on the Libyan settlement.
“Does he speak Russian with you?” Merkel asked, turning to Putin.
To which the Russian president replied: “A little bit.”
Earlier it was reported that an international conference on the Libyan settlement began in Berlin.
The conference is attended by the commander of the Libyan National Army, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the head of the Libyan National Accord Government Faiz Sarraj, Russian President Vladimir Putin, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, representatives of Britain, France, China, the UAE, Turkey, Congo, Italy, Egypt, Algeria, and also a number of international organizations.
