Anne Hidalgo can consider her re-election in March in Paris, while Rachida Dati (LR) confirms her successful start to the campaign to the detriment of the official LREM (Benjamin Griveaux) or dissident (Cédric Villani) candidates, according to a new Ifop poll for the Journal du Sunday.

In the first round of the municipal elections, the "Paris en commun" list of Ms. Hidalgo, outgoing PS mayor, would obtain 25% of the votes in front of the "Committed to change Paris" list of Ms. Dati, former Keeper of the Seals of Nicolas Sarkozy (19%) .

LREM deputies Benjamin Griveaux (15%) and Cédric Villani (13%) pay for the division of their camp. The capital had however massively voted for Emmanuel Macron in the presidential election of 2017 and still allocated nearly 33% of the votes to the LREM list in the European elections.

Between them is the ecologist David Belliard (14%), subject to stiff competition in a municipal landscape where all the candidates strive to green their program.

Ms. Hidalgo, who appeared in difficulty a year ago, notably after the Vélib 'fiasco, is widening her advantage over her competitors.

In the previous poll published by Ifop in December, it was already in the lead with 22.5% of voting intentions. Benjamin Griveaux (17%) and Rachida Dati (17%) were shoulder to shoulder in front of Cédric Villani (14%) and David Belliard (12.5%).

The Ifop survey for JDD and Sud Radio is published after the rallying of center-right candidate Pierre-Yves Bournazel to Mr. Griveaux. The pollsters however tested the hypothesis of the maintenance of the latter.

In this case, the respondents still grant 25% of the voting intentions to Anne Hidalgo, but Rachida Dati only obtains 17%, ahead of Benjamin Griveaux (16%), David Belliard (14%) and Cédric Villani (12%) .

Danielle Simonnet's LFI list and Serge Ferdebusch's RN list would each obtain 5% in all cases.

In the second round, a hypothetical union list between the Hidalgo and Belliard lists would prevail very much (41%), ahead of that of Rachida Dati (22%) followed by Benjamin Griveaux (20%) and Cédric Villani (17%) .

Survey carried out online from January 13 to 17 among 1,102 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
