January 19, 2020 Pro-government military massacre in Yemen. At least 70 soldiers were killed in a missile attack by the Houti rebels against a mosque in the province of Marib in the central region of the country. Medical and military sources report it. Dozens of the wounded.

The mosque is located in a military training camp 170 km from Sanaa, and the attack, military sources said, took place during yesterday's afternoon prayer. According to sources quoted by Al Ekhbariya TV, the raid was launched with ballistic missiles and drones.

Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi accused the Houti and condemned the attack as "cowardly and terrorist", according to the official Saba agency.

A proxy war has been going on for years in Yemen between Iran and Saudi Arabia, which since 2015 has been leading a military coalition attempting to restore President Hadi's Sunni government, which the Shia Houthi have dismissed from the capital Sanaa and now has its base in the southern port of Aden.

The Houthi rebels, who control the country's main urban centers, have not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
