Berlin (dpa) - According to a newspaper report, the number of calls for orders in the Bundestag increased last year. As the “Rheinische Post” (Saturday) reported, referring to the stenographic protocol, ten calls for orders were noted in 2019. The previous year there were six.
According to the report, four calls for orders were directed against AfD and left MPs last year and one against politicians from the Greens and the SPD. Occasions included insults such as "Hetzer", "Terrorist" or "ridiculous shooting gallery figure".
According to the rules of procedure of the Bundestag, the incumbent president can call individual members to order "if they violate the order or the dignity of the Bundestag". Further measures would be a fine of 1000 euros and a session exclusion.
