In his message, the Russian politician wrote that Pompeo, who stated that the US policy towards Russia is unlikely to change after the change of its government, should understand that Russia's policy towards the United States after the cabinet change will also not change to please the American authorities.

“The foreign policy of Russia under the new government will not change in the direction pleasing to the United States. In this sense, the American side can count on complete parity, ”he said.

On January 15, the Russian government resigned. The former chairman of the Federal Tax Service, Mikhail Mishustin, became the new chairman of the Russian cabinet.

In this regard, Pompeo said that Washington’s actions in relation to Moscow "are unlikely to change as a result of some reshuffle in the Russian government."
