At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commended the efforts of the members of the Council, which were behind a series of important accomplishments that reached in Dubai to achieve media leadership at the level of the Arab region, stressing that his contributions are appreciated at the internal and external levels, as it demonstrates The choice of Dubai as the capital of Arab media for the year 2020 is the great positive impact and the clear imprint that Dubai has left on the Arab media page.

His Highness stressed that the development of media institutions in Dubai constitutes a major task at the forefront of the council's priorities, with the need to apply the best international standards and practices in line with local needs, so that Dubai media is a true mirror of the UAE that conveys its message to the world with high-quality content that matches the requirements of the times, serves the community and meets His needs, while employing technology in a manner that ensures utilization of its various platforms to give our local media global competitiveness.

His Highness pointed out that the media successes achieved by Dubai to date have established a solid base that helps a strong breakthrough to advance the Dubai media towards the desired level of excellence, and to raise its content and mission in line with the expected aspirations for the next stage, taking into account the needs of the strong development process in Dubai from a media capable of Keeping pace with this, as this requires rapid preparation for this launch and a clear vision of what can be done to reach desired levels of proficiency by developing development paths that take our local media to the highest levels of global competition.
