The tomb was discovered in a remote area in the country's northwest, the day after authorities struck a facility a few miles south, in the province of Veraguas.

"The timely intervention of the national police special forces prevented another 15 people from being murdered," the prosecutor reports.

The sect calls itself "God's new light" and the 15 rescued people appear to have been treated very badly, according to the country's top police chief Alexis Muñoz.

"They tried to indoctrinate them," he says.

Ten suspected sect members, including a minor, have been detained. The six minors in the grave were between one and 17 years old and at least five of them are believed to have been children of the dead woman.
