In a debate article in Aftonbladet, residents in Viptorp raise their voice against the sale of nearly 600 municipal housing units. There are over 400 affected apartments. In total, 129 tenants have signed.

In the debate article, tenants express concern that it will be more expensive to live in the apartments if a new owner comes in.

"New big owners come in, luxury renovations and rents are shocked," they write.

On Saturday, a manifestation will be held for the fourth month at Fristadstorget against the sale, where they encourage politicians to come and answer questions.

Nearly 600 apartments

It was in the autumn group Eskilstuna municipal companies made a special decision to sell a large number of rental rights and a school. The aim is for the municipality to raise more money for welfare, according to the political majority.

Municipal real estate chairman Bertil Andersson (M) has previously said that the sale should not affect the rent.

"The conditions for those living in the apartments will be exactly the same as before," said Bertil Andersson in October.
