Two men, prosecuted for violence committed near a school, will be tried by the correctional court of Béziers on June 24.

Police intervened on Thursday at the Jaurès nursery school in Béziers, near which a 46-year-old man, a pupil's parent, "claimed to have been threatened with a handgun by an alcoholic stranger when he had just dropped her child off at school, ”says Raphaël Balland, public prosecutor. He said he defended himself by punching his opponent in the face.

No firearm was found

The police arrested shortly after the 44-year-old suspect, who had just come to the hospital to be treated for a nose bill. After a passage in sobering-up cell, this forties explained to know his adversary of the morning, "because they had been the companions of the same woman and that they were in conflict since then", continues the representative of the parquet floor. He denied, however, having been in possession of a firearm, "claiming to have only threatened him with a metal object after being hit in the face with a pebble". No firearms were found.

For his part, his opponent maintained his version during his hearing by the police, claiming that he did not recognize his rival at the time of the altercation. Both are already known to the courts, in the context of several convictions.

Note, according to the public prosecutor of Béziers, the facts were not committed inside the school grounds but in the adjacent administrative parking lot.
