“The most important thing for today is to focus on implementing the provisions of the president’s message to the Federal Assembly, which we all deal with,” RIA Novosti quoted the Prime Minister as saying.

He also thanked former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev for their joint work.

“In the near future, after appropriate consultations and the announcement of the composition of the new cabinet, we will meet,” Mishustin addressed members of the government.

Earlier, Mishustin and Medvedev held a meeting that lasted more than an hour.

On January 16, the State Duma approved Mishustin’s candidacy for the post of prime minister. Later, the president signed a decree on his appointment.
