“Now the main thing is that after the Berlin conference, if everything goes as planned, the Libyan parties should not repeat their past mistakes and do not begin to put forward additional conditions, blame each other,” Lavrov said.

He noted that so far the relationship is very tense.

“They don’t even want to be in the same room, not to mention talking or meeting each other,” said the acting Russian Foreign Minister.

At the same time, Lavrov emphasized the importance of the observance of the ceasefire in Libya.

"The truce, which was announced before their (parties to the Libyan conflict. - RT ) arrival in Moscow, is still being observed, this is a definite step forward," he said.

Lavrov added that he intends to participate in a conference on a settlement in Libya, which will be held on January 19 in Berlin. Representatives of Russia, the USA, Turkey, Egypt, the EU, the UN and other countries are invited to it.

PNS Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj and Head of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Marshal Khalifa Haftar said they would attend the Berlin conference.
