Four countries announced potential interest in Ukrainian UGS facilities in Kiev


Ukrainian underground gas storages (UGS) may be of interest to Poland, Moldova, Romania and Hungary, said the head of the Ukrainian GTS Operator, Sergey Makogon.

According to him, Ukraine has the largest underground gas storage facilities in Europe, but they are used by less than 50%.

“Our neighbors may be interested in our gas storage services, in particular for Poland, which announced plans to expand its own gas storage facilities. Moldova, Romania and Hungary also have a need, ”Macogon wrote on Facebook.

He also emphasized that the development of regional cooperation should be one of the priorities of the country's energy policy.
