A 16-year-old French teenager was released from the grip of a gang of young people who forced her into prostitution in Brussels (Belgium). The group was dismantled, and the investigating judge placed seven suspects in pre-trial detention, said the Brussels prosecutor's office on Wednesday.

Authorities are seeking to identify other victims. Among the suspects is "the organizer of the prostitution of the girl," said the press release. All the suspects are suspected of "exploiting the prostitution of a minor over the age of 16, with the circumstance that it is the main activity of an association, and trafficking in human beings".

Sold for 2,000 euros by her boyfriend

According to the file, other young French girls were also victims of these acts. Reported missing in France, the liberated girl was locked up in a house in Uccle, a town near Brussels, where she was forced into prostitution. This is where the judicial police discovered it thanks to the alert of an acquaintance.

She fled her home in late November after an argument at school. She then took the direction of Belgium with her boyfriend, who "sold it for 2,000 euros" in Brussels, says Het Nieuwsblad . "In two weeks, around 160 men would have come into contact" with her, specifies the Flemish daily. Two Brussels rappers are among the seven suspects.
