He added that work has not been completed at 24 facilities, including in four schools and two kindergartens. Children attend these schools, in particular,
work in some offices, the agency emphasizes.

In December 2019, the Acting Head of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, said that it was planned to complete the flood response by August 2020.

Dmitry Medvedev, who served as prime minister, said the region’s infrastructure needed to be restored in 2023.

Flooding in the Irkutsk region began in late June 2019 due to heavy rains. Natural disaster led to the death of 25 people, seven more were missing.

The total number of victims of the flood in the Irkutsk region amounted to more than 42.5 thousand people.
