She showed that there are six methods of self-defense that children must learn to protect themselves from others and those unknown to them, to avoid being hurt, and to preserve their safety, namely: rejection, abstinence, evading, moving away, escaping, and reporting.

In detail, the director of the Social Education Department at the Social Services Department in Sharjah, Maryam Al Qasir, said that “the department provides educational and social programs, including the educational program (How to say no), which provides awareness workshops targeting children at all levels of education, through an integrated training program directed For children of determination, to protect themselves from abuse, and to prevent any harm to them by proactive steps.

She added that «the program consists of an interactive workshop and an electronic platform, in addition to the educational booklet, which has the same title (How to say no), and presents six ways of self-defense, through reviewing educational methods that are told by a dialogue story between the parents accompanied by their children». Al-Qusair indicated that with the beginning of the current year 2020, the department initiated the implementation of the same program “How to say no” to a new category of people of determination who was translated in Braille for the blind by the Emirates Association for the Visually Impaired, as they are trained through workshops for them accompanied by their families and guardians Their affairs, on how to deal with those who are trying to harm them, pointing to their organization of the first workshop attended by more than 14 children of "blind people", and a translated booklet was distributed to them, on the mechanism of protecting themselves, and not making others touch them.

She explained that the program that will be applied throughout the year for children and the blind contains six methods of self-defense, namely: teaching the child how to say no, escaping, informing the closest person he finds in front of him for protection, clarifying good and bad touch, shaking hands with leaving a sufficient distance, and refusing when not The desire to do something that he does not want.

She added that the child should refrain from accepting gifts from strangers, except with the consent of his parents, and not go to empty places alone, and not to move away from his companions when leaving the market, noting that the child must escape from people who feel fear by saying that he is busy, and away from sites and places that They may feel in danger, and report the person who scares him and hits him.

She indicated that this program will include all groups of children and school levels during the current year, as focus will be on children from six to 13 years, in addition to families, through workshops, and the representation of positions and roles, and will be presented to school students and child centers, in order to enhance The child's cognitive level of protection methods, by reviewing educational methods told by a discussion story.
