The political scientist called this event logical in the context of the message of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly.

“This looks logical enough, because Putin has set ambitious goals that require, in my opinion, even a revision of the concept of socio-economic development. In this sense, changes are needed in the composition of the government and, perhaps, in those approaches that are needed to solve certain problems, ”Mikheev said.

The expert also recalled Putin’s words regarding the reform of the government’s formation mechanism.

“Putin actually stated the need to change the mechanism for forming a government - he said this, that parliament should play a more significant role. The decision to resign logically follows from this, ”the political scientist added.

Mikheev pointed out that such a decision "could knock out a trump card from the hands of the opposition," since it expressed dissatisfaction with the government.

Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said that the entire government is resigning.

RT broadcasted the relevant statement.
