Patient died after ten times as high anesthetic dose

The patient was multi-sick and the ambulance had been alerted as the medical condition had deteriorated acutely. As the patient felt pain during an operation, the ambulance staff decided to give local anesthesia.

But the dose injected was ten times as high as intended for local anesthesia.

Only a few minutes later, the patient died.

According to the Lex Maria report submitted, the patient had a long history of illness and it cannot be ruled out that the high dose contributed to the death, but it also states that the type of local anesthetic used can affect the heart rhythm.
