Being openly critical of the regime can be associated with the danger of life in Iran. Despite this, people have been gathering to protest the regime in recent days after admitting that they accidentally shot down the Ukrainian passenger plane. Rouzbeh Parsi believes that there are various reasons why people are now daring to go out on the streets and protest.
- I think this is such an event that really no one can defend and therefore there is also a sympathy, a kind of collective sympathy in that if you can not complain about this and show how wrong it is, what can you complain about ?, he says.
