- I have trouble remembering the attack itself [...] That it was she who was exposed to the attack it was a coincidence.

So says the 33-year-old man in police interrogation who is suspected of attempted murder of an elderly woman after pushing her down on the train track in Lund on the evening of December 2.

He has admitted the crime.

Prosecutor: will request major forensic psychiatric examination

The woman suffered very serious injuries to, for example, arms and head, but miraculously managed to survive.

Yesterday, the man was charged with attempted murder. He was arrested on a bench on the platform shortly after the incident. An on-site police officer describes in the preliminary investigation how the man sits on the bench and shakes and is contactable.

It also emerges that he has a history of mental illness and has previously committed violent acts in Oslo. Has undergone a minor mental examination.

"I will probably request a larger forensic psychiatric examination, but I cannot do that until the end of the trial," said prosecutor Henrik Steen.

Depending on what the case study shows, it determines whether it is possible to sentence the man to prison if he is sentenced.

Searched for asylum in Denmark

The man arrived in Lund just two days before he pushed the woman down the track. Prior to that, he had, among other things, been in Helsingborg and Denmark, where he had sought asylum for some unclear reason.

In interrogations he has told him that he will be aggressive if he does not take his medication and that he remembers that he pushed the woman down on the train.

"Of course, I have been thinking a lot and been desperate for this to happen," said the suspect in police questioning.
