Half of the Russians (51%) believe that the introduction of the long New Year holidays was a good decision, every third adheres to the opposite opinion (33%). This is evidenced by the results of a VTsIOM survey.

As noted, if 15 years ago, the opinion about the postponement of holidays to May was popular, then at present this idea does not receive support. So, only 3% of respondents spoke in her favor.

In addition, 4% of citizens support the introduction of vacations, but consider the number of days redundant, follows from the study.

The research was conducted on January 12, 1.6 thousand people participated in it.

Earlier, a bill was submitted to the State Duma with a proposal to make December 31 a non-working day.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called this idea logical. According to him, he agrees with the arguments, but believes that everything needs to be analyzed first.
