The daughter of a 47-year-old man who died in Le Havre (Seine-Maritime) on January 8 filed a complaint against the Samu. She believes that a malfunction in the emergency service is the cause of her father's death. Two investigations were carried out, says France Bleu Normandie. One concerns the circumstances of the death of the forties and the other the reaction of the Samu.

The complainant explained that she contacted the 15th when her father was experiencing knee pain, from which he had been operated on a few weeks earlier. A doctor on call came and prescribed treatment. The patient's situation then deteriorated rapidly. Her lips turned blue and her hands swelled. Her daughter then called back the Samu and said that the service refused to intervene. The man died in the evening.

He would have refused to be hospitalized the day before

On the rescue side, it is said that the victim's family had already called on the Samu the day before the death. They then wanted to hospitalize the patient but he did not want to enter the ambulance, said in a statement the Monod Hospital in Le Havre. The patient was also seen by a city doctor.

An autopsy showed that the Norman died of sepsis which could be due to his knee operation. The investigators have at their disposal the audio recordings of the family's calls to the emergency services.
