Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sànchez will have their first penitentiary permits 48 hours after the Lledoners prison has accepted the request submitted by both of them and waiting for the decision to be ratified by the Classification Service of the Secretariat of Criminal Measures of the Generalitat.

The president of Òmnium Cultural and the former leader of the Catalan National Assembly today requested his first permit after the sentence of nine years in prison for sedition imposed by the Supreme Court on October 14.

Cuixart and Sànchez have already served a quarter of the sentence and, after being classified in second degree penitentiary by the Department of Justice of the Generalitat last week (same as the other seven sentenced to prison at the trial of the process ), they may request Up to 36 24-hour annual permits with a limit of seven consecutive days.

Both entered prison on October 16, 2017 by order of the judge of the National Court Carmen Lamela. During the entire judicial process, they remained in pretrial detention between the prisons of Soto del Real (Madrid) and Lledoners (Barcelona).
