Now the inheritance change after Ingvar Kamprad is complete and SEK 670 million has been paid out to the family foundation and the huge sum is earmarked for investments in companies in Norrland, from Gävle and up. And it is about pouring out multimillion amounts to the companies that are considered to fulfill the requirements.

No direct contributions

But Ingvar Kamprad's last will will not be translated into direct contributions to Nordic companies. Instead, it is about following the statutes of the family foundation, and then it is about education, research and efforts that can create cost-effectiveness and profitability.

- There is already a long line of companies that have contacted us, but everyone has received the same message, the foundation does not accept applications and will not make grants directly to companies.

"We will, however, be able to contribute to increased knowledge in the companies through investments in education and research and other things," says Lena Fritzén, CEO of the Kamprad Foundation.

Get started seriously

The foundation's goal is to start in earnest with the Norrlands initiative at the end of the year and then Lena Fritzén will embark on a tour to meet representatives of the companies in question.

- We are located in Växjö, but there may also be a presence in any northern city as well, she says.

"Just to applaud"

Boden's municipal council Claes Nordmark (S) is very pleased with the initiative.

- It's just to applaud. Of course, the companies may think that they should be able to take part in Ingvar Kamprad's legacy in a more flexible way, but it could have been zero, but now it is SEK 670 million. It is clear that it is positive, he says.

Claes Nordmark believes that there is a great need for dividends, research and efforts for cost efficiency at the housing companies.

- I long for the end of the year when the money can start to benefit according to Ingvar Kamprad's wish, he says.
