Stéphane Peterhansel (Mini) imposed himself with a breath Tuesday on the ninth auto stage of the Dakar-2020 in front of Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota), which puts pressure on the leader in general, the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Mini) .

The Frenchman was ahead of the Qatari by only 15 seconds at the end of the 410 km special between Wadi Ad-Dawasir and Hadath in Saudi Arabia. It is the third stage victory this year for "Monsieur Dakar".

The Saudi Yasir Seaidan (Race) took third place.

Before the last three stages, Carlos Sainz, who finished at 6 min 31 sec, keeps the general's lead in front of Al-Attiyah for 24 seconds.

Peterhansel remains third but returns 6 min 38 sec from first place.

On Wednesday, the tenth stage takes the pilots to the "Empty quarter", a region in the south of Saudi Arabia which represents the largest sea of ​​sand in the world.
