The Criminal Court in Dubai commenced the trial of a 22-year-old Arab woman on charges of blackmail and a known Gulf media threat, after filming him in obscene situations, and demanded him an amount of approximately two million dirhams for not being exposed.

The victim said in the Public Prosecution investigations that he met the suspect last October through a social media dating program and acknowledged to him that she lives in the Emirates, but she will come to his country to visit him, then she contacted him after arriving there, and sent a video of her, so he responded Her and outrageous with her, then left the place.

He added that he was surprised by a message from her about two weeks after their meeting that included a picture of him without clothes accompanied by her in her bedroom, and told him that she has pictures and videos of him during the intimate relationship between them, and asked him to transfer the amount of approximately two million dirhams in exchange for not publishing the photos and video.

He pointed out that the defendant took advantage of the nature of his work as a well-known media figure, planted a camera in an invisible location and photographed him, in order to obtain the money, so he filed a complaint against it with the authorities in his country, and was criminally prosecuted in Dubai.

The Dubai Public Prosecution stated that the defendant confessed in the police reasoning record and the investigation of the prosecution with the accusations that she was charged with and the crime of extortion and the threat of assigning dishonest things to honor and consideration through an information technology method, and the misdemeanor of using communication services to abuse, annoy and harm others' projects.
