A military source affiliated with the Libyan National Accord government said that the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter began to mobilize their forces south of the capital Tripoli, in preparation for the likely resumption of their attacks, hours after Hifter left Moscow without signing a cease-fire agreement sponsored by Russia and Turkey.

The Libyan military source, who requested not to be named, said that the UAE Emirati armored vehicles and artillery had been monitored to reach the city of Tarhuna (90 km southeast of Tripoli), which is the main operations center for Haftar forces.

According to the same spokesman, the continued support of Haftar's forces did not stop until after the truce was announced last Sunday night, "which proves that Haftar wanted the truce to rearrange his militia." He adds that the monitoring teams of the Al-Wefaq forces monitored crowds at the axes of Salahuddin and Ain Zara.

Ready to repel
The commander of the Tripoli Military Region, Major General Abdul Basit Marwan, told a Libyan channel, that Al-Wefaq forces are fully prepared to repel any attempted attack by Haftar forces on all axes.

This comes hours after Haftar left without signing the ceasefire during talks in Moscow on Monday in the presence of representatives of the Russian and Turkish sides and the internationally recognized Accord government, which signed the agreement.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that Haftar views positively with the Accord government, and he needs two days to conduct local consultations, and the ministry added in a statement that the cease-fire remains in effect indefinitely despite the refusal of Haftar to sign the armistice agreement.

Russian pressure
Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Siala said that Russia had informed him that it was putting pressure on General Haftar to sign the ceasefire agreement.

Moscow hosted yesterday indirect quad talks on the armed conflict in Libya, between representatives of the Russian and Turkish sides, a delegation of the internationally recognized Libyan government and another of the Tobruk government supported by Haftar.

Russia stated that both the head of the Al-Wefaq government Fayez al-Sarraj and the head of the Libyan Supreme Council of State Khaled al-Mashri signed a text of a draft ceasefire, while the delegation of Hifter and the speaker of the parliament in Tobruk Aqila Saleh asked for a deadline until Tuesday morning.

And Turkish feast
Earlier in the day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Haftar warned against the consequences of resuming his attack on Tripoli, stressing in a speech he gave in front of the Justice and Development Party’s parliament bloc, “We will not hesitate to teach Haftar the necessary lesson if it continues its aggression against our Libyan brothers and the legitimate government of the country.”

This "showed who is seeking peace, and who wants war in Libya," said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoغلlu - after leaving Haftar Moscow without signing the ceasefire agreement.

On the other hand, the pro-Haftar Libyan Libyan channel 218 reported on its website - without referring to its source of information - that during the talks in Moscow held through separate meetings of the Libyan parties, the Prime Minister of Al-Wefaq requested that Haftar's forces return to their positions that preceded April 4, 2019, which is today Hifter's forces started their attack on the capital, Tripoli.

The channel added that the government delegation affiliated with Haftar rejected Al-Sarraj's request, while the Russian side pressed heavily on the Libyan parties to sign the agreement.
