A 37-year-old man was found dead Monday night in Nancy. He had been stabbed in the throat. It was a woman who gave the alert around 7 p.m. Near the Meurthe canal, she saw "a man in his fifties, a small white beard and carrying two bags", then discovered "a man injured on the ground", indicated the public prosecutor, François Pérain.

"A stab in the carotid artery"

The man did not survive his injuries despite the first aid given by the local resident and the intervention of the emergency services. "According to the medical examiner who had carried out a forensic examination on the spot, the victim had been stabbed in the carotid artery," explained François Pérain.

"A suspect whose physical appearance seemed to correspond to the description made by the main witness," was arrested not far from the crime scene shortly after the facts, as well as a woman who accompanied him, according to the prosecutor. The victim, "known for narcotics use", was in possession of a "precision balance", a tool used for drug trafficking, said the prosecutor.
